How to successfully carry out orthodontic treatment? ... Through a better understanding of how occlusion works.

MONDAY 18 DECEMBER 2023 - LYON - HÔTEL MARRIOTT cité internationale

THIS DAY WAS INITIALLY SCHEDULED FOR 17 APRIL
Coordinated by Drs Jean-Luc OUHIOUN and Frédéric CHALAS

SPEAKERS :

Dr Antonin HENNEQUIN, Prof Florent DESTRUHAUT, Dr Jean-Claude COMBADAZOU

SUMMARY

Neuromuscular occlusion is focused on studying muscle function. The inter-arch relationship is functional when the masticatory muscles contract correctly. However, beyond this dental relationship, the position of the cephalic end and the overall posture must be taken into account by any clinician involved in oral rehabilitation.

During this training day, the speakers will revisit the fundamental principles of occlusal diagnosis, emphasizing the importance of the initial care and the clinical examination. In a second part, complementary examinations will be presented in a teaching manner and through a large number of clinical cases, such as surface electromyography, electronic recording of mandibular movement, and stabilometry.

Based on clinical cases related to dentofacial orthopedics, the speakers will try to show the importance of this occlusal management, which Japanese orthodontic colleagues have fully integrated into their practice.
