Dr. Chantal Naulin Ify’s new book has recently been published by CDP, in the JPIO series, following other works including “Dental Trauma.
From Diagnosis to Treatment,” published in the same series in 2005.
This is an important 344-page book, richly illustrated, which covers over the course of 13 chapters all the oral and dental care that it is possible and necessary to provide to our children.
After a brief overview of the child’s development and its
psychological approach, the book discusses the initial consultation as well as the monitoring of
pain and anxiety.
All areas of pediatric dental surgery are then reviewed: restorative dentistry, endodontics, surgery, prosthetics, and of course orthodontics referred to as “clinical interceptive.” This chapter 9 could not fail to draw our attention. It is interesting to note how our Bioprogresive concept, although never named, has largely inspired these pages.
Thus, in one of the colored blocks intended to catch the reader’s attention, it is clearly stated:
“If we want to restore optimal cranio-facial development, then it is ‘all’ the dysfunctions that must be corrected because they are related. Functional rehabilitation and orthodontic therapy go hand in hand. Without one another, there can be no stability of the acquired functional and postural correction.”
